If the rings wear and break on the metal 3 ring older type, the cylinder can get scratched and may need to be honed or replaced. With the rubber o ring NAA style, if the ring breaks, all that happens is you leak oil past the ring. No damage done. Replace the o ring and off you go. Is it worth the price? If you gotta replace a damaged cylinder anyway, might as well replace with the NAA. If your old ram and cylinder are in good shape... You decide?!? . HTH Steve 8N 169302

Yep, plus I think the "O ring piston" may seal better than the steel ring piston.

OK, I have a 47 8N, what do I have to order? I have the 3 ring piston type and would upgrade while I am fixing the piston. I order from Farm & Country, but I didn't see one there. I have to order the complete eveything???? or do I just need to replace the piston and It will work in my existing cylinder? Let me know and I will get one ordered. Thanks
