Tried to post this during the board crash. Here goes again...
I've got a really mucked up hood assembly on my 44' 2N. Its been pounded on, welded, re-welded, torched, so it barely lines up and fits anymore. I don't want to spend $300 for one of those el cheapo Taiwanese hybrid hoods floating around the internet. I've found a decently priced hinged Ferguson T-O hood assembly and fuel tank, and was wondering if anyone out there had ever heard of modifying these for an N application. It obviously would take a bit of fabrication to mount the tank on the block and figure out how to avoid a radiator neck interference, but I sure like that hinging feature. I've done this kind of weird grafting project on cars and trucks before, but I thought I'd run this idea by all you folks out there more experienced with these machines. I'm sure I'll hear from the purists too... :)

Hi, since Ferguson parts are much harder to come by, I like the other fellow's idea. Advertise the hood, sell it to someone who needs one, and take the money and get you a good Ford hood.

Another option, if you are not in a hurry and if the Fergy hood is good, see if there is a market for that hood and offset the purchase price of a 2N hood.

Neat Idea!

I could see something running from the battery tray to the radiator to hold up the gas tank. And maybe you could chop the top of the radiator neck and put on a low clearance radiator cap. Then you could have a flip top 2N
