This is for Dell or anyone that could help. Hi it's Barbara again, husband isn't yelling today, he is glad I found you guys to try and help. Dell, he said he did what you said and it now fires, but, it pops and dies, Iasked if he had the firing order right(got that from reading all of the board info-grinning) anyway, got any idea what to do now????? ?We live in the high desert and there just aren't any mechanics , you learn to do or you don't have it. Thanks again, Barbara

Barbara..... ...Today's 18" of snowfall innna the Cascade Mt passes discourages me from willingly driving 5 hrs from my Rocky Ridge Sheep Station at the foot of Mt Rainier to rescue you. Hope you'll understand (grin)

"Pops and dies"..... huummmee...This could be eather a carb problem or a governor problem or ignition timing problem or a fuel problem.

"Pops and dies:" semi-indicates sparkies are good, semi-indicates fuel flow is good, semi-indicates sparkie firing order is correct 1,2,4,3 CCW, semi-indicates ignition timing is close

Heres where I'd start:
1) set both idle mixture and main jet screws to 1-1/2 turns. 2) disconnect the governor rod from carb.
3) set the idle screw (backside of carb) max turns
4) make certain gastank valve is open at least 4 turns
5) give it a whiff of diesel ether quick start in carb mouth 6) don't choke it (ether acts as fuel enrichment choke)
7) try and start it.

Once ya get it started and warmed up, go about normal carb tune-up proceedures...etc..... ..Dell
