I changed the Hyd./Trans. fluid the other day in my 8N. I refilled it with 5 gals. of hyd/trans. fluid from the ford dealer. I drove it down the road and parked it in the garage. I went to the garage the next morning to check it out and when I pulled the dip stick it showed low. There was hardly any fluid on the dipstick. I wiped the dip stick off and checked it 3 more times same result. There were no leaks on the floor. So what is going on? I don't want to add more. I know it takes 5 gals.? Nothing seems wrong about the dipstick? What do you guys think?
Thanks.

If you put 5 gal. (U.S) that is a gracious plenty. You actually don't want to put but 4 3/4 gallons to keep excess fluid out of axel bearing area and thus prevent leaks around axel bearings. Otherwise, you need a longer dipstick.

Bill, It is the original dip stick for my 8N.?
Think it might have shrunk with age?
