Does a Detoit Harverter(Fergenson)sickle mower fit on an 8N. If it does, where can I get a manual for the sickle mower or pictures for hookup. This sickle uses a lot of chains and the spring loaded bar that goes under the right side of the 8N how does that attach.Style number from sickle mower is 7A E0 B2 (9001) THANKS!!!!

The number you gave may be a Ferguson style sold during the TO20 days different than the Ford/Ferguson. Were these numbers on top of the drawbar on a riveted rectangular plate, if the numbers are right maybe the Harry Ferguson forum an help.

I don't remember the model number but the old Dearborn Ford mower for the Ns had the trip mechanism that goes under the right rear axle too and it attached to a special bracket that also served to carry the right hand stabilizer bracket. Their is one regular stabilizer pin and one ball socket hole for the pin in the trip attachment to go into. These mowers did a great job but were a pain to install. Somebody later used his head and did away with most all of the extra mounting stuff that these mowers had.

One of these horrible things came with the 8n I bought many years ago. It had been not used for many years and had been moved around by flipping and dragging it around. I bet it took me 50 trys to finally figure out where all the chains and arms and rods and everything fit. It cut pretty well but always was a royal pain to install. Eventually I figured out that the best way to install was to attach the three point hitch and lift the mower an inch off the ground. then the trip linkage could be easily attached. Also I seem to remember that the PTO had to be installed before the 3point hitch was attached. Live hydraulics would have been a big plus.
