I JUST PICKED UP A FORD 8N and WAS wondering IF I could USE A COMERICAL Engine flush TO GET RID OF THE OLD GUMMY OIL&SLUDGE WITHOUT HARMEING THE GOVERNOR SINCE AN OIL LINE RUNS TO IT. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Just change the oil and then change it again in about 10 hours. I would not use any flush of any kind in an engine. Marvel mystery oil is great to unstick rings and valves etc. but too much loosening of years of sludge will put it through the entire engine instead of just out the drain plug.

I would just add a quart of tranny fluid and let her run a few hours, that is the best cleaner that won't loosen large pcs, and do that before every oil change. Have used it for years in the trades. Do not use engine flush unless you are going to tear apart. HTH
