I have a bent draft control link. I have read many of the 1200 post on these problems. I plan to straighten the link , replace the leaky ram cyl. gasket. install a new cam follower pin , mine wore in half, install new safety valve on pump and of course order the jig from zane . my question is the pin holding the connecting rod for the ram piston , is bent where can I get a new pin and how much slop should be in the end of the rod , hole is larger than pin , also what else should I look at while i'm in here

Listen to the man Russell. I used one on my old worn, sloppy linkage and it did the job as promised.

The pin that goes through the end of the ram rod does not have to be straight. All it does is to prevent the rod falling out if and when the lift arms are lifted by an implement bumping up and down etc. or just lifting the arms by hand. As long as it is in the hole and secured with cotter pins etc it is OK. I just put a bolt in mine and two nuts to jam lock it with the other day because mine was really about worn into. Just dont' tighten the nuts against the rocker so it can move.(Go with the flow)!

I got that Jig waiting for you! To prepare and adjust the 8N lift you really do need one. Without a jig you are just shooting in the dark at adjustment. Those manuals that try to tell you how to adjust the 8N lift by measuring from one point to another etc. just won't work. Might if the linkage was all brand new and no slop etc. but not on a 50 year old tractor.
