Plowing snow last week, lift quit working right. This happened last summer, when it would go up but not down. Back then I loosened the quadrant mount and adjusted it 'till the valve opened and she went down, it's worked fine since then. Now I can lift only if I adjust the quadrant base all the way to the rear (handle full up), but I have to move it all the way forward to drop (full down). Plenty of fluid, changed last June, no water in fluid that I can see. Checked all the obvious things (I think). Could it be a worn cam-follower pin?

Remove the right hand inspection plate and look in at the two control rods. Their is a spring that connects to them and to the end of the ram cylinder. This spring is too loose. Take it out and cut off about an inch of it and then reinstall it. If you can't cut it down for some reason then replace it with a spring strong enough to operate the control valve.

This spring is designed to prevent shock loads from the draft mechainsm damaging the control valve linkage train when the implement hits an immovable object.

Thanks Zane. I'll get into it this weekend. Been mighty cold up here in Michigan this week.
