Hello,

Thanks to all for the answers to my transmission oil questions. They are very helpful.

After looking the tractor over more closely, I can see it is in need of the pin that attach the radius arm to the front axle (both sides). (I am using Ford F-150 terms here, I hope they apply to the 8N) Can a grade 8 bolt be used here? Is the part available? If so, the real part description or part no. would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again,

Arne Carlson

Arne, Your terminology is correct. A grade 8 bolt will work quite well. The correct part # is 357623S and they are available. If you have problems getting the old ones out there is lots of information in the archives.

A regular hex head bolt will not work on the 8n,unless you don't want to turn the steering wheel. The bolt is correct for the 9n.The 8ns have a recess in the radius arm for the correct pin to recess down and out of the way. don
