Mark, For starters I'm not allthat far from you, I live in reardan wa. & I agree with you the folks back east have more shows & meets than we do out here. The JD club on the west coast used to have plow meets & they were fun to watch. But as for the old time thrashing it goes on every year out on the Palouse just south of Spokane Wa. Inland Empire Steam & Gas Buffs put this on every fall. Never been there although I am a member. Thier grain ripens te same time ours does so I must operate the more modern day combines instead. Would like to see that someday but not going to give up 12-15 hour days to watch it. My best pay time of the year. :)) I love farmin' I'll find the dates for you though & post them. BTW you know any Davis's up there, use to work the race horses with some of them. Play safe

I thought you were on the East Coast I guess you are not that far away. When the feilds are ready you have to reap the rewards of all the work befor! I can't spell to good either but I never could make a living typing and wouldn't want to anyway. Working the land and building my place is enought for me now. Also taking tractors apart! Post those dates I would like to get out and see another one again. I feel like a home body never leave the area around here not much reason to go to the city. Thanks, Mark H.

I wonder who else is from Eastern Washington? I live South of the Spokane Valley and my kids played ball against Reardan many times. Great sports town! If you get a chance, the tractor show and old-time engine display at the Spokane Interstate Fair is a pretty good one. I usually spend an afternoon looking over the machines. There have been steam engines as well and threashing machines have been in operation (The only time I have ever had the chance to see them working.) The Fair is usually about the second week of September.

Mark, Okanogan is not that far away. I have enjoyed your posts on the various boards. From what you have written, it sounds like you and I are about at the same place in life, living in the country and fooling around with machinery. I think you would enjoy our Fair.

I have stopped partying about 20 years ago! Slowed down some and decided to enjoy life more. Hate the 8-5 seen and won't go back to it again! My wife wanted me to grow my hair after I quite contracting in the Electrical Trade so it is long now in a pony tail. At least I am not balding yet!! Not to many people with long hair any more but I could go either way don't matter anymore. Don't have to please the public with that clean cut anymore and it saves on the barber for the last 6 years of not cutting it. I will make it to the Fair this year ours has a few tractors but we are a one horse town. Mark H.
