I have never seen that spec number before and can find no references to it in the various tractor-fluid references which I have bookmarked.

No offense, but is it possible you typed the spec number incorrectly?

It's possible, the New Holland guy couldn't find it either. No matter, I'll just bring it back and pick up the NH fluid.

It needs to be the 134 spec.

I guess I screwed up. LOL. It was Ford, it said trans / hydro, so I bought it. I can take it back.

That's not screwing up.

Pouring it in and using without checking--THAT'S screwing up!

Thanks for the support folks! :-) I took the stuff back and called the NH dealer. I will pick up the right stuff tomorrow.

Dang, I think this tractor may be ready to do some work pretty soon!

You aren't the only one - when I got my 2N I went to NAPA and said I needed trans. fluid for a ford 2N. They gave me hydraulic fluid.

When I posted this fact, man did I get flamed!

You were smart to ask

Thats not what I put in mine, used a mobil brand 424 that spec'd out the same as the 134 that most recommend. Archives may have a cross refference even though I have not seen it there. Might be worth the look see. hth
