Carry-all bracing

Recently, I bought a used bolt together carry-all frame at a local implement dealer. In my effort to get educated, I found several postings regarding carry-alls in the archive. Several have pictures, but for some reason, the pictures don't come up.

I have a fairly simple question... What kind of brace do I use to keep the load from bending the horizontal arms downward. It seems to me that weight placed on the back edge of the platform would cause the arms to bend downward (pivot on the bolt holding the horizontal angle-iron arms to the vertical frame).

As purchased, the frame has braces running at 45 degree angles between the verticle frame and horizontal arms. However, that puts them at about 2 feet wide. That's not very usable... I want my platform to be the same width as the tractor (60 inches give or take).

I must be missing something simple...

thanks,

Russ

Russ..... ..Assuming yer carry-alls metal is stout enuff, after ya bolts'er together, have all the joints welded ('cept fer yer 45* braces) then remove the 45* braces and bolt 2 X 8 X 72" lumber on the bottom and 2 X 6 X 42" onnna the back with 1-1/2" spacing for drainage and ya should be good to go.

Major caution, 45* bracing good hint the metal just might NOT BE very stout. ..... Dell
