Worth a call or visit to your local auto electric shop to get a price. My local shop did my starter and gave me change from fifty buckos. A generator should be somewhere in that range too although obviously shops vary==so may your mileage.

Paul If you plan on keeping the tractor yourself, go the distance. That tractor will likly be running longer than us just make sure you get QUALITY. I don't know about your area but around here you can get some pretty low grade stuff and it's not offshore either, hopefully they have stayed with fast movin auto parts. 5yrs ago I put a new eng in my 88 wagon. Better have an exch starter so I don't have to lay in the snow and change it (WRONG) , last year in Jan the drive started slipping, got a drive ,took the starter out, Arm. dragging on the poleshoes, add bearings brushes and a fork. Hope they last until next yr!
Does the word ARRRRG come to mind. Bob

Need one for an 8N or a 2N/9N? I've got a rebuilt 6V one that will fit a 9N or 2N. I bought it and never used it. I'm asking $100 plus shipping. Let me know if you could use it. Thanks.
