There are thousands of people who vote on different questions on this site. That is quite a sizable number. We should have a hat or tee shirt. Especially when we attend a show. It would be easier to find forum buddies. I personally would like to meet and shake your hand if only I could find ya. A lot of you fellas deserve to have braggin rights, for all the work and effort you put into your tractors and the advice that you give to others. I am a tractor person because of a gift. If it weren't for this site, my Jubilee would eventually end up in the junk yard. But, because of this site mine will get restored, eventually, When I work on my tractor, I feel like I have some of you guys looking over my shoulder. That's very reassuring and is invaluable to me. So, if'n you guys are interested in a hat design,( I am ) put on your (non N) thinking cap and then ask your wives what a good color and design would be.

This for you fellas with a sense of hummor. 1. No propellers
2. No green or yellow colors
3. No velcro for attachin your favorite beer cans
4. No feathers or tassels
5. No ear flaps for cold weather wear.

In all seriousness, I think it would be really nice to have a unique hat to wear at shows. FWIW

I got a hat from FNH that is white with a black bill. On the front it says FORD 9N with a picture of a 9N under it. The bill has two pin strips, with FordNewHolland acrost the front. Nobody else get one of them? Sharp looking hat. I keep mine in the china closet so it doesn't get dirty. Dave...

Let’s see now.

Grey is the predominant color on most N’s, so how about a Grey (not too dark) body and bill with Red piping and Red “scrambled eggs” on the bill? The logo could say something like “Yesterdays Tractors” across the top, with “Ford N Series” or just “FORD” in the middle and “Ferguson System” across the bottom.

It wouldn’t be too difficult to get a patch maker to make something up, and the middle and bottom of the badge could be changed for the other groups on this forum. At least we could recognize members from other forums, and the design would carry the YT theme through out.

One last thing,

Make GOOD quality hats, not the funky adjustable mesh-backed ones. I’d think that the standard sizes (M,L,XL) would work for us, but the greenies might need a bunch in size small.

Mikey

A distinctive hat would be great. I agree, whole heartedly, that it should be made of quality materials. I have about 200 hats that I have accumulated over the years and so many of the bands are a skin irritant on my forehead. A good quality band doesn't do that.

It seems we have to get enough interest and some one to design the logo.

Can we get into any legal repercussions with Y T or Ford on this?

Well, if it's any help, tell your hat vendor this quick story, if your inclined to:

Years ago, when I was flying a corporate airplane for a large corp. I had Henry Ford on board as a passenger. He was pretty old and I was quite young at the time. Mr. Ford asked me "How long do you think that our product should hold up? I said, "well Mr. Ford, like the company who built this airplane, How long should it hold up?" While he was hesitating, I said " I guess as long as we can keep 'em runnin'."

So, moral to the story, just say to the vendor

HENRY SENT ME!!!!!

I am sure the hat manufacture could answer that question. You would definitely need Ford or YT's permission if'n you used any of their copywrited logos. The hat printer should be able to keep us legit on that issue. That should be checked out first, however. We need to know if'n we are infringing on someones else's rights. Don't want to do that.

Why not a red hat with a grey patch in front, with red letters ( FORD N-series)

For us 9N'ers. Maybe dark grey with the F-9N logo. I guess we will not be confused with Corsair WWII Vetrans.

Hi Osla, I'm from Gettysburg. I not to say it too loud, especially when I'm below the Mason Dixon Line. But during the winter I have an office in Pensacola, FL.
