Am considering a front loader for my 8n. How well can an 8n handle a loader, and is it too hard on the front end? Also need to know where I might locate a loader. Preferably a new one. The type where you don't have to climb over the back end to get to the seat. Any info is appreciated.

I see the previous responce mentions the paulson loader. I got information from them a while back and only saw one problem. The rig mounts to the axle below the fenders. This is where I have my stabilizer brackets mounted, and could not find a way to consolodate the two mountings.

think about that and make sure you get the info from paulson. Beside the mounting conflict, it looks like a great loader.

Hi Rick. I've had a loader on my 8N since 1985. I don't know what I'd do without it! This makes the tractor much more versatile. I have a "Superior" loader, I doubt if this company is still in business. My loader will probably lift more than the tractor is designed for- 1500 pounds+. I have an 800 pound counterweight on the rear and my tires are loaded with CaCl&water and I can still lift the rear wheels off the ground if I try to lift too much! The loader makes the front end heavy, even with the counterweight. You have a constant reminder that there is no power steering....I have had no major problems during 15 years of hard use on this machine. Get yourself a loader!
