I have an 8N (1952) and am wondering if the hydraulics would be able to lift a disc that weighs 650 pounds, or am I asking for trouble?

RJ..... .... this question has been asked many times, you might want to check the "archives" at the top of this great N-Board.

But to save you the trouble of checking the archives, one of the founding N-Board members did an empirical test on his newly rebuild 2N hydraulics. He chained the front axle down and lifted 1200 lbs of lead bricks at the rear arms before the internal safety valve popped.

Most N's can lift about 750-800 lbs before their front wheels go flappin' the breeze.

So yes, to answer your question, if'n yer 8N's hydraulics are in good shape, you should be able to lift a 650# 3-point disc..... ...Dell
