Dell & Jim, You were both right on the money. I started the tractor, markerlight did not got out, so I jumped across wirh a small wire and bingo, alt. started to charge and light went out! I must have the wrong light. I have a diode and will install that in the morning. A fella emailed me and said I don't need a diode or a marker light, he said I could get an ignition switch with a third (Acc.) terminal and wire the Acc. terninal to the alt. Any ideas on that? Thank you again for all the help. If you are ever on Minnesota's Iorn Range, stop by and take her for a spin.

Ringy..... ...I know of 5 different ways to deal with the ignition feedback problem with the Delco SI-10 12 volt alternator conversion. I generally recommend the marker light 'cuz unlike a diode, lightbulbs don't care which way they're wired in.

GM uses the idiot light. Diodes, ya gotta know which direction to connect it, if'n it continues to run, turn it around. 10 ohm 10 watt resistor, good an idiot light 'cept ya can't see ennythin. Popular with ol'timer Model A guys is 2-terminal turnsignal blinker module. Some ignition switches can work fer ya, some can't. Heck, even a DPST toggle switch would work. Hummmm,..... thats #6. ain't it?

The scheme is to somehow reduce the voltage being fedback from the alternator internal guts by the P1 connector so the sparkies don't sparkle 'nuff to keep the engine runnin when ya turns the ignition switch off. ..... ...Dell
