I installed a in-line filter right above the carb.,now the gas will not enter the filter unless I back off of the hose clamp on the line above the filter. If I pull copper line out of rubber fuel line that attaches to the filter gas flow is good. Does not matter if manifold is hot or cold. What in the world is wrong?

Get rid of the inline filter or punch a hole through it with an ice pick through the inlet.

sounds to me like you got a air lock, try loosening the nut just before the carb to let the air out and let the gas flow out, then tighten the nut. Hopefully this will help.

Get rid of the inline filter.
Clean and/or coat the inside of the tank.
Replace all three screens in the system and get the proper fuel line.

It will go another 50 years...

This is normal, it will draw what it needs.

Try loosening the gas cap.

The first thing you need to do is replace that copper line with a steel line. Then you need to clean or replace the gas tank so you won't need the aftermarket filter. There is already three filters in the gas system[supposed to be]. don
