Just a few thoughts in response to a previous post "AIN'T LIFE GRAND" Sometimes the good old days are all what we remember, which might only be the good stuff??
Cleaning the barn gutters with a pitch fork, Wheelbarrows with metal wheel, Loading full milk cans, Fighting cantankerous tractors in the rain cause you NEEDED it, Combining wheat, into bags, Loading hay by hand, Digging ditches by hand, Push mowers,
Carrying a screwdriver and matchpack for the points that would close on your first date, Adjusting your brakes once a month, And most of all, making sure that you dug the new outhouse hole far enough from the hand pump in the shallow well to be safe.
If you can't remember back to at least SPIN AND MARTY and news reels, then this is just so much rambling from another old goat (and I ain't old) If you can, then there is probably a whole list of stuff from the good ol' days that are more old than good, Memories are great!

Ron, Thanks for the memories. I did most of the stuff you mentioned. And, as for the milk cans, my Dad had a milk route and I have no Idea how many cans of milk I have thrown up onto the staketruck..and those full cans were not empty either!. Never did get to dig the outhouse pit as we put in a septic system before it was required. We had 3 holers. 2 adult sized and one lower for kids. Ah, Memories!!!!!

I didn't say that I wanted to live in the 40's or 50's, I just said that I enjoy playing with the toys from that era...
