Throttle tension

I noticed yesterday, seemingly for no reason, that the throttle on my 8N lost the "friction" to hold it at a set level. The throttle wants to return to idle all the time.
I know I have read discussion of this problem but I'm not sure what to search for in the archives.
Is the repair simple, easy, or complex? How much disassembly is required.
Thanks

I rate this as a 1 beer job..You can purchase a new throttle plate for about $14.00. I think that is what I paid for mine. I also replaced the bottome spring on the bottom of the rod. The tension should be set at maxium. Some people also have been successful in turning the little ball bearing around on the bottom of the indicator. This ball wears on the friction plate. Sometimes the spring that goes from the arm on the bottom of the throttle rod that goess to the bellhousing is also missing.
Happy Motoring
