How do you know when to replace. Is there a way to check for wear? TIA PAUL

Jack the front of the tractor up and try to move the axle front-to-back and up-and-down. You may want to remove the radius arms, but you should be able to tell. If you have a front mount, a good indication is if you keep breaking distributor caps. On a side mount, the axle will push the fan shroud(if you have one)into the fan.
