Do many n tractors have the heat sheilds over the muffler? I have always had one on my 2n so i never really thought about it. As i look at peoples tractor pics i do not see the sheilds. What made me think of it is, when i was looking through ebay i found one and was surprised at what it was bringing. I am no way related to this sale.

Thats the first one that I have ever seen...My 2N does not have one...Must be like the splash guard over the battery, old timers discarded them over time..

At the Tri-state swap meet in Portland, Ind. last year, I bought two new (repro) heat shields sans the brackets. At a show in Ohio I was 5 minutes too late as another Ford nut found two nice brackets while pawing through some iron hauled into the flee market. Gotta keep looking.

Yes the 9&2N had the heat shields. The early 8N's had the insulating pad on the underside of the foot rest.
