Spent the whole day at the anual auction. There was a lot of stuff there, but not much N stuff except one 2N. It sold for $1700, and was in pretty good working condition. Had the battery cover.

I ended up with a pretty good Fergusen 3PT PTO powered hay rake. :-) I let a Ford sickle mower go, even though it was really nice. It just got too expensive.

My Buddy and I bought a 1953 F600 truck with flathead six. For $300. It's 6V and the motor purrs, but it needs a little brake work. It was quite an adventure getting it home. First it caught on fire, (the emergency brake that clamps around the drive shaft didn't release corectly), then we ran out of gas, so I towed it the rest of the way.

It was a good day in the end, but the weather stunk.

Hi Arne, glad to hear you had a fun day at the auction. What is the answer that we get so excited about purchasing these old items? This is the question my wife always asks. It is exciting. Murray

Murray,

It IS fun! I try to stay away from where the auctioneers are, and just go to be sociable. How do we explain it to someone who can get excited about a mall? I dunno!

I am not sure why I think it is so great. It must be the simplicity of the design. It is just so refreshing to actually be able to work on them with simple tools.
