My NAA's three point lift works great during the summer, but when the weather gets cold, the lift will not work, regardless where the lift lever is positioned. When the weather warms, the lift will work again. What is the deal? It is driving my crazy!

Ron..... ...change you NAA's hydraulic oil. Ya' got water in it and it freezes and doen't pump in the winter time. You've been luck that the pump hasn't been busted by the water freezing like engine blocks do when they don't have anti-freeze..... ...CHANGE YOUR 3-POINT HYDRAULIC OIL..... ...Dell

THE NAA CARRIES THE OIL FOR THE HYDRAULICS SEPERATE. SEPERATE FOR THE TRANS, THE HYDRAULICS, AND THE REAREND. GET THE OIL WARM BY RUNNING THE LIFT; EMPTY THE FLUID AND PUT A GOOD QUALITY HYDRAULIC OIL (YOUR CHOICE) IN THE CAVITY FOR THE LIFT. PROBABLY WATER IN THE GEAR OIL THAT SOMEONE PUT IN THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM CAUSING YOUR CURRENT PROBLEM. GOOD LUCK.

Ron

I had the same problem with my Jubilee. I got a warm day, got her all warmed up and dumped the old Molassas out of her and put in new 134 ford hydryalic oil. It pored in like water. That concerned me for a while.

But once the lift started lifting again It was just like heaven to me. Mine has beem working fine every since.

Remember it goes in the Rearend , tranny, and the hydralic pump. About 5 to 7 gallons. Read you IT manual

In the 2N-9N-8N it takes the 80-90 weight oil.

hope this works for you

I agree with Jim.

To elaborate, in the cold, it cavitates in front of the pump, not going through the system. When the weather is warmer, the oil flows more readily, so it does not cavitate in front of the pump.

Gee, this gives you the performance of an N in the winter! :-) It's a strong argument for the 134 type oil in that case, at least for N's.

Ron, You may have the wrong oil in her. I think it is suppose to be SAE 80 gear oil. Could also be the hydraulic pump, can pump thin oil but not cold thick oil. I would try the oil first. Just a suggestion.
