This is my sheild it is a little rough, but it is solid. It is hard to see but it tapers to a smaller size towards the back. Sorry this is the only pic that i have right now.

Thanks, Patrick! I beginning to under stand more about this thing now. I thought I had the whole thing...but when I studied a pic in a book I purchased a while back...I realized that I had only the front (or back) half. Your pic makes me think that I have the front.
The pic I'm referring to is on pg. 41 of "Ford Tractors" by Robert N. Pripps & Andrew Morland...ISBN 0-87938-471-9.
It shows what look like a 2 piece assembly.
Hmmmm...maybe it's time for a trip to the Ford museum.

I took some photos this morning of my shield. Unfortunately, my #@$%%&@@ FTP software seems to have demanded a "Sunday, day of rest" thing.
So, I am e-mailing it to you directly (aggravating, because it would be nice to share this with others!).
Anyway, your reference to pg. 29...if I look closely, it appears that the shadows only make it appear as being tapered. You may have a homemade version...or a heavily modified one.
BTW...In the pic I'm sending you, the two holes toward the front represent a modification...I don't believe they we original. The rest seems to be orig.
I will be committing this thing to a CAD drawing today and I'll send a pdf of it.

well i went and got my book out and i see what you mean about the pic on page 41. Now i have to question if that is the same sheild that i have. Look at my pic and notice how at the rear of my sheild it steps down to the muffler size. To me the one in the book looks like it is the same size all the way back? I am looking at the book again now. Look at pg.29 that looks like mine. Pg. 48 looks to be same size and 2 part all the way back. I am now looking in Ford Farm Tractors book and on pg 132 there is a very original 9n and it has just the front sheild. You might be right the rear sheild may slip up over the rear of the front sheild and all be held in place by the band bracket.
