I picked up a pair of 15" old Ford car rims. I'm cleaning them up and painting them just in case I ever get another N (I hope). One of the rims is 5.5" wide inside the flanges and the other is 4.5" wide. The tires on it are shot, so I'd like to get a matching set of used car tires. Can I get the same size tire to fit the different sized rims. If so what size. To be honest I don't understand the R75, 215 stuff. Thanks for your expertise.

Let me know if the hubs fit on the spindles. I have found an old trailer at work that has an Old Ford axle. It has the 9+" bolt pattern and our '46 2N has the 10+". It still has one hubcap with the V8 logo on it. I bummed too that the rims weren't a direct bolt on.

you're funnin' me, right?

If you have a 1942 N-tractor, closely examine the 5 hole wide hub 19" rims that originally came on the tractor. And compare the bolt hole pattern to your 15" rims. And then answer the question, will your 15" rims fit?

If the answer is yes, then you can fit ANY 15" tire on eather the narrow rim or the wide rim as you desire and can find. You'll probably want to stay with innertubes to match the tire size. You can put tubes in tubeless tires.

I would suggest you NOT try to fit really wide tires, but you could if you want to. Since high speed is not a N-Tractor charistic, you don't have to worry about any speed fitment restrictions. There are a lot of N's with cheap used passenger tires on the front end..... ..... .respectfully, Dell

You are correct Dell. I neglected to mention I also have two old Ford car hubs as well. Thanks for the information. I believe the car hubs have a 9.5" bolt pattern, while the 2N has the 10 or 10.5" pattern. I was disappointed when I discovered it.

Just for kicks....
a tire, say.....P235 75R 15
P="passenger"
235= tread width
75= aspect ratio ( the sidewall height is 75% of the 235 treadwidth )
R= radial
15= nominal wheel diameter

*DO NOT mount a 16.5" tire on 16" wheel*
