Haven't worked (messed) with getting my oil pressure going. Had the oil pan off. Pick up tube was bright and tight. thought I would take the front plug (not the sparkie plug) on block front out and check it. Then pour some oil in to prime it. I have a golden Jubilee. are there any oil lines accessable that would help in the priming. Don't want to take punmp off to pack it w. grease if I don't need to. Engine turns over with out ignition on. MMO has been added numerous times to clyinders. Can you add oil into the screw on filter to prime? I have a lot to do but want oil pressure first.
thks for any help.

Oslo, after replacing my oil pressure gauge on my Jubilee and still no oil pressure I have found that the sending tube is so small an ID that it wouldn't hardly give a reading. I CAREFULLY removed the tube from the block and found that when I turned the engine I had a good stream of oil. I wired out the tube blew it with a compressor, shot brake cleaner and voila oil pressure was 50psi cold and 40 to 45 hot. Only one drawback. When the old girl gets about 20 hours on an oil change she starts to read erratic pressure readings and thus telling me to change the oil. Fresh oil and filter and she's back at full reading. I think you might have already checked this but its my spin on what it might be. Hope it helps.

Oslo; How interesting working on a Jubilee! Just got a lesson on one lately. Took apart the engine down to a bare block. In fact I only have the transmission gears to remove and that baby will have every nut, bolt and screw removed from it. Oil pumps are a little snug to unbolt even with the engine upside down. It seems you could pull the dist and chuck a screw driver tip in a drill motor and at low speed turn the pump to prime it that way you would not have to spin the engine for the prime. If you are thinking you may need some parts let me know they only have about 6 days left on a lot of them for the engine. They are a fun tractor to work on lot more complicated then the 9N or Ferguson. Seems like every year newer they put more parts on them to pull a plow with. If you have any needs Email me. Mark H.

Thanks Mark, I think i will take the dist off and give it a try. That sounds like the best approach to getting pressure.

remove the spark plugs, remove the top from the oil filter cannister. Crank the engine over with starter and watch to see if oil pumps into the filter cannister. If it does, start it up and observe oil pres guage. Ive gotten different reports as to acceptable oil pres but most seem to think over 5 psi at 600 rpm idle and 20 psi at high rpm after full warm up is acceptable. Ron.
