Does anyone know the dirt on the rear blades for the earlier Dearborn brand types? Did they come in 6 foot lengths?

or? 7 foot lengths?

And, are 7 footers practical for the small N turning radius (assuming they were manufactured in tat length).

I am trying to find one in the New England area and have a possibility of one in Ohio and Wisconsin but not New England (Maine/New Hampshire or Vermont are within a reasonable drive)

Insights are appreciated. thank you. 9N'er

I DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT DEARBORN BLADES, BUT I RUN A 7' BLADE FROM TSC ON MY 8N. MY REAR TIRES ARE SPACED OUT A LITTLE WIDER THAN STOCK. I CAN JUST BARELY TURN THE 7' BLADE 360 DEGREES. I USE THE BLADE TO MOVE SNOW WITH HERE IN INDIANA. WITH BLADE ANGLED, THE REMOVAL PATH IS STILL WIDER THAN THE TIRES.

I also have a 7' blade with my tires spaced out. Just barely squeaks by when you turn it, but even angled it is wider than the tire path.

Hey Tom.

The Dearborn 19-5 was a 6' blade. You can connect a 7 footer to your 9N, but may not be able to reverse it while mounted on the tractor. Trying to move snow with a 7 footer, especially offset, will definitely help you develop great skill in steering with your brakes (grin). Here's a scan from the owner's manual:

Hope this helps..... ..... Ed

9Ner " know the dirt"? I am not a mindreader, but don't you mean spec? Anyways, my Dearborn blade is 6" and yes you will have some trouble with a longer blade hitting tires if you angle it or try to reverse it. Respectfully, Richard

Couldn't think of a better word for the rear blade than "dirt" but if I used: "what's the scoop on the Dearborn blades" I would have confused everyone including myself. Who knows what replies I would have received about Dearborn rear scoops, scoops mounted on rear blades, and everything in between. thanks. tom
