I have a newly rebuilt carb and a new sediment bowl assembly and I still am not getting enough fuel to the carb. I have a short section of clear hose on the fuel line and can see that shortly after starting the tractor there is just a trickle of gas getting to the carb, and I don't know what adjustment to make. Are there any suggestions out there?

You may be confusing head (pressure) and flow. After all, when the motor is running, a trickle of gas is all it uses, so that's all you'll see flowing. Do you have any other indication of fuel starvation? Does the flow that you see change at all when you eliminate any question of tank venting eg by removing the gas cap?

The flow test often described here - stick the end of the gas line in a jar and turn on the tap and it should flow a pint or more a minute - is really a test to check that there are no obstructions to flow or venting issues and that there's enough pressure to ensure that the float bowl is quickly and adequately replenished. However, the motor doesn't actually use but a small part of the available flow.

If you don't have a vent problem you probably need to drain the tank and check the filter screens on the top side of the fuel valve. You may be able to get additional fuel flow by opening the fuel valve all the way to the reserve position. If you find that the fuel valve screens in the tank are clogged you will probably want to pull the hood and tank to give it a good inspect and cleaning. Sometimes the top of the tanks rusts and flakes keep falling into the fuel.

I appears that there is a partial blockage in the tank screen/filter or in the elbo going tito the carb. Sometimes these are not cleaned or are missed. Remove the screw in the bottom of the carb (from the outside bottom) and see if you get a good flow from your fuel bowl. If not, you have a blockage, most likely in your tank.
Good luck

Have you checked the vent hole in the gas tank? It may be plugged-up.

Sounds like a plugged vent - if you take your fuel cap off, does that help?

Also, you don't have a new inline paper filter, do you?
