I apologize for this off-topic post, but we talked about the election some here already - and I think you all might find this real interesting.

Here's a map I found of the election results, Bush/Gore, county by county. It seems that the big divide in this country is between people in the big cities and the rest of us, and, unfortunately, between the races too. The two sides see things so differently, I wonder what's going to become of us. Again, sorry for being off-topic.

Interesting. I can't make out ALL the state boundaries with any certainty, but it looks to me like the only states that went ALL Bush are Utah, Wyoming, and Nebraska. Am I missing one? On the other hand, No state went all Gore.

All I can say is that this country doesn't need a re-vote it needs a revolt. This government had grown so large they would have to put together a commitee just to find this web site. They are willing to take away are guns so that we couldn't do it if we wanted to. If you were running across a field with a bull chasing you and the only thing that could save you is a bush, would you rather hide in the "BUSH" or get "GORED"? Hope your vote was counted.

The Electorial College helps to prevent the heavily populated areas from getting the whole say. With a popular vote the canditates would have to ignore the rural areas in order to concentrate on the densely populated citys.

Whats the differance on the electorial vote compared to the popular if they are both based on population. When Oregan and Florida were the only two left the candidates wherent making a beeline to Oregan. Also the heavily populated area will go all for one candidate with the electorial and the popular will be a total of all the states with a winner at the end. Also the electorial voters are put there by the most they have done for their party or an out standing leader for their party.

Well said Al, and that is one reason the lib's are pushing for elimination of the college.

Bob, one can't forget what he never heard in the first place. You said, "Bush's people were talking about lobbying the electors to change their votes to follow the will of the people." What is your source? Or like Gore did you just invent the idea?:-(

I must have missed that...

Could you please find the articles you are referencing, and/or the quotes from before the election that "Bush's People" made that you are citing, so that the rest of us may become educated...

It's always best not to do anything a liberal city sloff suggests. Plus they are (almost) always lying. I may be giving a little too much credit since I can't recall (any) honest liberals.
