Got about 3 hours of seat time yesterday on the N. Only broke 2 sheer pins on the hog in heavy brush/saplings so all was right with the world! But wait! When i drug myself to bed last night I could hardly move. Short of customizing a barcalounger to sit on top of her (wouldn't look too original), how do you guys cope with sitting on something for so long built for someone half your size? I am 6'3", 240 lbs. and no spring chicken. I know there are after market seats out there, and I think the original seat can be modified and moved back, but which method and/or seat have you guys with my problems had the most success with?

Try standing up on the foot rests ever so often if you can, also taking a break every hour or so just to strech your legs and get a drink helps. Aint no body makin you work like crazy if your on your own time, enjoy time in the old N seat , I do . ( Im 5 ft 7 170 lbs ) You might try movin the seat back so your knees dont hit the dash. good luck .

8NTX,

My orig. 9N seat spring has several extra holes for moving the seat backward or foreward. I'm only 5'6", so I have mine moved all the way to the front.

Maybe someone on this board has an old Ford "suspension seat" they want to get rid of. I understand the shocks are hard to find, but it might fill the ticket.
My nickels worth, Mikey

Tex..... ....I got a piece of 6" long 1-1/2X3 sq tube at the local steel scrap yard and longer bolts and raised the seat leaf spring mounting by 1-1/2 inches, made a world of difference to my knees. Might not work well for a 10 yr old..... ..Dell

Comfort was not one of Henry Ford's design criteria. If you were on there for 3 hours straight (or close to it), you're feeling like anyone would.

I have the OEM type seat and Tylenol.

I've always been impressed with how comfortable the pan seat is. Of course, if I ever had a modern seat, I probably would change my mind.

Steve, saw in a previous post you reign from So. Central Texas. Whereabouts?

Deep within my heart lies a melody. A song of old San Antone.

Where're you at?

Currently I am up in McKinney, north of Dallas. Rapidly becoming a suberb. I asked because I have family in the Schulenburg area. I make it that way every on average once every month or so. More so during deer season, less so when I have to drive in 300 miles in 110 deg weather. I would love to find a way to move there permanently.
