Semi truck rolled into the office yesterday, and when he opened up the trailer I saw it on a pallet. What a nice old piece. The tag indicates a 19-16 model. Now I need to find some brochures on it.

After looking around and seeing new ones and the like, I have to say that this blade is the hot ticket.

Weighing in at around 370 pounds and 6 feet long, it is in excellent shape for a blade of it's age. Straight. ALl hardware is there, original tags in very good shape and it is really interesting to look at. It has a cast iron turn crank handle that adjusts a permantently mounted top link. And to turn the blade itself, it has a permanently mounted bar that resembles a (now how do I spell this next word?) Kan't or Cant hook to roll logs. It pivots, hooks underneath a half round plate fwith the angle holes and then ya pivot the blade to the desired angle or pivot the blade 180 for reverse.

For the same price as a new blade, I feel fortunate to have acquired this antique blade. Two vintage Dearborn implement collectors told me it is a rare blade and to find one in good shape is a stroke of some good luck.

I am happy with it at least and I think it will look awesome mounted on the 9N after I sandblast the flaking old red paint and shoot some nice acrylic enamel 8N red on it. It's a keeper.

I'll take some pictures of it and post it in the near future.

Oh, Farmall A is on a flatbed today rolling into NH this afternoon. X-Mas in April I guess. Told two neighbors about are new riding mower...reaction was sort of odd...like they thought I was weird to have three antique tractors...like they didn't understand my excitement and they kind of bashed the idea.

I walked away kind of dejected after that.

Hmmmm...I guess I don't understand it either, but you know what? I'm having fun and now I am reading and studying about Farmall's, and this one's rear lift is powered off the exhaust...I need to study that too. That should give me a decent lesson as well. It doesn't matter why anyhow. I feel fortunate and happy to have some interesting hobbies, and the opportunity to meet some great people through it all. 9N'er

If you have to explain it, they wouldn't understand anyway.

Let the neighbors think that you are nuts. Remind them when they want to borrow you and your toys for some heavy work. Ask them to loan you their classic car or antique what-cha-ma-call-it.
I see and hear similar dis-interest from collegues in an office that has the watercooler sports fans and golf duffs who are excited every Monday. Something about 20 car wrecks and birdies and stuff.
You have a lot of company here.

Hi Tom. Microsoft Network has had my email hosed since last Saturday, so you if you have been trying to contact me, that's why I have been unresponsive. I'm fed up with them. This is the third significant outage since this February. Contacted DirecPC this week and I'm going satellite. Bad enough to put up with a 26400 connection speed, but then not having email for 3-6 days, three times within two months was just tooo much. My company partners with Microsoft, and I've tried to be loyal, but this has gotten downright abusive. Anyway, here's two items for your Danuser blade, and I'll search my stuff today and see what else I have for you. The first ad shows both the Danuser and Dearborn and gives a hint of how much heavier-duty the Danuser model is.

Were you ever able to obtain the Sherman Powerdigger service and trouble shooting info that I tried to get to you?

Have fun with your new toys..... .Ed
