Semi truck rolled into the office yesterday, and when he opened up the trailer I saw it on a pallet. What a nice old piece. The tag indicates a 19-16 model. Now I need to find some brochures on it.After looking around and seeing new ones and the like, I have to say that this blade is the hot ticket. Weighing in at around 370 pounds and 6 feet long, it is in excellent shape for a blade of it's age. Straight. ALl hardware is there, original tags in very good shape and it is really interesting to look at. It has a cast iron turn crank handle that adjusts a permantently mounted top link. And to turn the blade itself, it has a permanently mounted bar that resembles a (now how do I spell this next word?) Kan't or Cant hook to roll logs. It pivots, hooks underneath a half round plate fwith the angle holes and then ya pivot the blade to the desired angle or pivot the blade 180 for reverse. For the same price as a new blade, I feel fortunate to have acquired this antique blade. Two vintage Dearborn implement collectors told me it is a rare blade and to find one in good shape is a stroke of some good luck. I am happy with it at least and I think it will look awesome mounted on the 9N after I sandblast the flaking old red paint and shoot some nice acrylic enamel 8N red on it. It's a keeper. I'll take some pictures of it and post it in the near future. Oh, Farmall A is on a flatbed today rolling into NH this afternoon. X-Mas in April I guess. Told two neighbors about are new riding mower...reaction was sort of odd...like they thought I was weird to have three antique tractors...like they didn't understand my excitement and they kind of bashed the idea. I walked away kind of dejected after that. Hmmmm...I guess I don't understand it either, but you know what? I'm having fun and now I am reading and studying about Farmall's, and this one's rear lift is powered off the exhaust...I need to study that too. That should give me a decent lesson as well. It doesn't matter why anyhow. I feel fortunate and happy to have some interesting hobbies, and the opportunity to meet some great people through it all. 9N'er
