Fer accuracy in restoring my 1942 2N (9N103775), which oil filter housing is correct...the one with 7 narrow radial "grooves" on the bottom, or 4 wide ones? I've seen both and don't seem to see a pattern in year/model used on.

Were both supplied?

Thanks! 2NTim

my 52 has the 4 wide grooves, and no drain plug on the bottom.

Well Tim,

My '42 9N is original and it has the 7 radial grooves. Hope this helps. :})

Ya...thanks! That's the one I have. As I'm tearing it down, I'm amazed at just how many of the parts are orig...not at all the "hybrid" that I keep hearing about. I've had to buy maybe 4 or 5 parts (mostly little "detail" ones)...and have about 4 or 5 more to go to be complete.

Thanks again

I think the "coolest" thing was finding all of those attaching bolts with the Ford Logo "F" on the bolt heads.

k...ya made me get up off my duff and go check it out...but...no cool bolts :=(

BTW...Have you ever seen a GOOD originality guide for N's? Every book I seem to pick up has many inaccuracies...or, at least, they sure don't agree with one another.
