Well, well, well, wouldn't you know it after all.I get a call from the fella selling the 841 with Power Steering, Sherman step-up transmission, live PTO, and Elenco 4WD. He received a couple offers in the ballpark of my original offer but lower. He sends an e-mail about 10 days ago offering it for sale to me for less than what I originally offered him. He said" "it's yours, come and get it." So, coincidentally the day before a young man inquires abut my restored 850 and to make a long story short he buys my restored 850 with Sherman backhoe and Dearborn Loader and it left Saturday for Connecticut. Today, I picked up the 841, started it this time, it sounded really nice, but it was blowing coolant out of the exhaust. But I drove it, shifted up and down on the Sherman, tested the Elenco and all speeds, the lift, and PTO. All sounded fine. Wheels tight, steering tight. Manifold and exhaust fine. Rubber on the positive side if neutral. Tin: very good. Plus a really nice Ford loader that zips up with an oversized pump. Brought it to the local Ford tractor guy to do some looking into the head or gasket, run some diagnostics and give it a thorough once over. SO, I have another restoration tractor in the works. I believe it's a 1960 tractor...maybe 61. I have to go back over and get casting codes and the number again. I'll post a picture, but the mechanic laughed when I told him "it was a diamond in the rough..." But he agreed, it was a nice tractor...saying "that's quite a tractor..." If you know John, something or anything coming from him is something to remember...to get a full sentence out of him made my day. 9N'er Now the fun begins. Sheet metal is in my shed in pieces, and tomorrow after work...it's stripping time.
