Saw a fellow today- Had a brand spankin new Kubota 4x4 tractor and tiller. Well, while he was tilling a large looking area, some kids started following him and playing in the dirt. Then, they started following 2 to 3 feet behind the tiller, and he was just smiling and laughing. My thoughts- Man, what if that tiller picked up a rock or broke a tine? He'd kill one of them kids.

Then he had to make matters even worse. He had one of the kids walk beside the tiller and hold up the rear flap so the others could see the dirt flying.

Honestly now, there should be a knowledge test before you let someone buy a tractor...

In a previous life, prior to a career ending injury, I was an ER nurse in a trauma center. We had a name for the exact condition you mention. SPS: Stupid Parent Syndrome theres no treatment for it and the condition is terminal in most cases.

Shucks, I have my chillun sit atop my tiller to give it more bite. Sandbags fall off and the kids can hold on better than the wife.

I also have em pick up sticks right behind me when I'm hogging a rough patch, as I don't want my hog to bog down.
:)

Maybe not..... .

I used to think of these situations as evolution in action: the dumb ones kill themselves off before they can reproduce. Unfortunately, they often take innocents along with them.

The gene pool needs more chlorine.

Arrrrgh! The guy has more money than sense. Heck of it is, someone gets hurt, there's a big lawsuit, and the attorneys get rich, and everybody else loses. It's stuff like this that I referred to in a previous post where some fella wants to use this tractor he just inherits and asks how to start it and what a clutch is & the like. Such a fella needs some personal instruction at a minimum. And a good lesson on common sense. And common sense is by no means common.

You are absolutely right about the law suit thing. I ran across a case where a lady was trying to sue Honda because her son got hit by a car on a 50cc mini bike. It stated in the manual that it was never to be ridden without supervision and never on a road. She actually said that the manual never said what the result could be if it was ridden on the road. She also said that it was a bad design because it was so low to the ground and it should have had a tall orange flag. Honda argued that a flag would be a safety hazzard in the woods where the bike was designed to be ridden!

She didn't win but I bet it still cost Honda a ton of money and these costs will be shared by the people that buy the products!
