I need a good 8N block. I think it would be a late model. It has the oil filler pipe comeing up not straight out the side. Serial # on it begins with 50. Help please.

Did it have a front distributor or side distributor?

Norman, If the partial serial number you gave is right. Its a 48 or 49 8n and this is an early 8n. Late 8n's have the side distributor.

I have found two front mount distributor blocks. One has the oil fill that comes straight out of the block. The other one points up more. Both with front mount distributor. Mine turns up. The oil fill pipe is straight. The other has a bend pipe on it. On mine the oil filter bolts to the head. On the other it bolts to the block. I may not know what I'm talking about. Only what I see and am told. ??? Thanks. I still need a block like mine. Later

Norman, Jim Cobb has a front mount motor for an 8n. His phone number is1-802-525-4032 It says you can hear it run. If you found a flat head four cylinder ford industrial motor it should fit your tractor, regardless if it's a front mount or side mount distributor. You can change that by changing the cover on the front. The oil filter canister could have changed over the year or someone may have moved it. Goodluck John
