I am new at this. I bought a 8n. The pump was bad having both pistons broken in the pump. Not wanting to try to rebuild one I purchaced a used one and put it in. Aparently not correctly. The lift raised when I moved the position control lever forward but then the lever could not be moved back. after 2 or 3 minutes the gasket blew out around the area of the oil tube (bottom). I screwed something up but before I take it apart I'd like to have a idea what I did and how to correct it Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Rich

If the lever wouldn't go back down you might have missed the hole in the pump control arm with the little ball on the end of the long lever arm that hangs down from the top when you put it together. If it missed the hole, it might have jammed and not let the pump housing tighten up against the case. That could let the gasket blow out. Just a guess. Take the right side cover off and look down in there while you try to work the lever, maybe you can see the problem. I needed another person to help me get mine lined up when I put it in.
