If I hadda guess, I'd say you have either a pump with very low pressure, or a major leak somewhere in the system. I'd be hoping for a bad set of rings on the lift piston. You may want to search the archives for posts by Zane, he has a good troubleshooting blurb he cuts and pastes to many questions about hydraulic problems. It involves draining the fluid down to the level of the side cover holes, removing the side covers, and looking inside as the lift is operated for leaks. THERE ARE MOVING PARTS INSIDE SO BE SUPER CAREFUL ABOUT WHERE YOU PUAT YOUR FINGERS!!!!! !!!!! !! (keeping them inside your pockets is best, tho Zane does mention something about testing the overload valve by feel...) If your tractor has never had hydraulic work, it wouldn't be a bad thing to just go ahead and do an overhaul, clean out everything, and have nice clean 134 fluid or 80-90....Install the NAA lift piston with its O ring, leather backing washer, and hone the lift cylinder , and you won't have problems wiht that area for a LONG time. Sponsors of this site sell a hydraulics video that is pretty good about the basics of the system, and Zane sells the Zane Thang to acheive position control with your N. He also has a guide to adjusting and a jig he sells, but I've not had the opportunito to get one of those yet, so I can't report to ya how it worked. Post again if you have any more questions....
