After removing lift cover, replacing cam follower pin and adjusting all the springs per the I&T shop manual the lift will not rise until the control lever is all the way to the top. The quadrant is allready adjusted all the way to the rear. I suspect I have adusted something wrong but have redone it several times with the same results. Any help would be great.

You really need a jig to adjust the 8N lift. It is almost impossible to do it by measureing springs etc like most manuals instruct you to do. This method will work fine if everything in the lift linkage is still like new but not many are in that good condition after 50 or more years of wear and tear.
