I have a 1947 8N and that has been converted from 6v to 12v. My question is about the resistor that was added to the electrical system to reduce the voltage from 12v to 6v. Should the resistor get hot? I mean REALLY hot. As in burn a blister on you if you touch it. Everything works on the tractor, but the excessive heat generated by the resistor caused me to wonder if this is normal.

Rusty..... ...that 12 to 6 volt converting resistor is running about 18-20 watts of electrical heat and is definately hot, I hope it is mounted somewhere so that NONE of your electrical wiring insulation getts melted..... ..Dell

No Dell, it is not mounted in a location safe from other electricial wire's. But thanks to your advise, it will be before the day is over. Thank you.
