At last count 62 tractors 2 are fords. 1 is a ford 9N tug and the other is a 8N with the sherman live power and live hyd setup, plus a dowden foot feed.

I don't know what the average is, I have 8, all Fords except 1 - JD Model A and 1 1939 Toro w/9n engine.

Well, I've actually pared down a little lately, due to concerns about bills being paid...
What's in my yard now...:
War model Steel wheel magneto 2N
2N in process of restoration to grey , 32 inch rubber
2N in process to "refurbishing in red/grey, 28 inch rubber
8N destined to be a working tractor
8N very low hours to restore
600 w/loader, use it almost daily
860 needs engine, have loader, a keeper
Parts 2000, selectospeed rusted out inside from sitting...(4 cyl)Seized motor...
9N, early and rust colored for parts only
2N, bad motor..parts seem to be disappearing, probably won't fix this one..
454 INternational, this one makes money by bush hog and driveway work.
Case VAC, the only tractor in the world known to make people vanish into thin air..(Yes, potential buyers keep promising to show up and take her home but they NEVER follow through.Go figure!)
and a couple of dynamark rider mowers and a wheelhorse rider. Not actually tractors to most of us...IS the collection big enough? I think it mighta gotten a little too big, as stuff isn't all under cover. And I'm trying to move..... .
Out on the Farm in Berne ( home for troubled kids in the startup phase ) we have my old International 674 , and the farm manager's old JD B and a highly modified M with wide front and loader.We need more tractors out there!
Hmmm. maybe I need to start dragging a tractor a day to the Farm.

I am new to the tractor world and have an 1951 8N I purchased several weeks back. I am starting to see how this tractoring can be addictive. Question? Are you supposed to spend more money on your tractor than on your wife?

2 Fords:
1953 Jubilee...our "worker" for now.
1942 2N...in active restoration.

My plans:
Buy an 800 to be the new "worker" (in 2003).
Restore the Jubilee (in 2003).
Buy and restore a 1939 9N.
Buy and restore a 1947/48 8N.

End result...1 each of the first year of each "N"!

Just two, a real solid 1950 8N for my the chores, and a restored 1955 640 for sitting in the garage and taking to a show once in a great while.

I just "inherited" a video made from 8mm movies that shows a few clips of my Dad, Grandpa, et al driving the 640, looks to be early 1960's vintage.

One 8N 2 Green and Yellows ,sold 601 WorkMaster in 96 after restoring it , showed 1100 hrs on proof meter , I could still kick myself for selling it, but I needed the money .( paint job , tune up is about all it needed, still kicking my self in the butt for that one .)

I have never tried striping an N. I saw a tractor painted up to look like a Burlington Northern locomotive once. kind of turned my stomach seeing all the green and yellow paint. made me think of a Deere

I have 6 tractors in all and one John Deere LUC power unit pulling a Meadows grist mill.

I have two 52 8Ns, One 1950 TO 20 Ferguson that I have owned for over 35 years.

I have a Ford 660 that I found languising in the weeds a couple of years ago and got going again.

I have a 1937 Model B John Deere on iron in pretty good shape.

I have an IH backhoe loade that is about a 1960 model that I have owened for about 20 years or so. I used to make a living with that backhoe and still use it around the house and farm.

I have 20, but only 18 of them run. I don't know if it's enough, but that's all I have room for. Three of them are Fords...two smoke gray ones and a 641. They live peacefully with 8 Cubs and a bunch of other stuff.

Fords I have owned and worked in the past are: 8N, 820 TLB, and 555 TLB.
