Hey guys..we are using a 8N to mow some feilds but the owners want us to give the tractor a tune up...we were wondering how much oil and what weight oil to use and what size spark plugs. Im not too familiar with these Fords but does the air clean cup hold oil...I know the Farmalls do but wasnt sure about the Fords?..and what weight oil for that? Well right this second that is all I can think of but if there is something I left out please tell me..Thanks

Pete

ENGINE OIL AND FILTER IS 6 QUARTS TOTAL. IF YOU ARE NOT USING SYTHETIC OIL, I WOULD RECOMMEND SHELL ROTELLA T OR MOBIL DELVAC 1300 SUPER 15W40 DIESEL/GASOLINE ENGINE OIL FOR SUMMER MOWING. I WOULD USE A DIFFERNET WEIGHT DEPENDING ON WHAT KIND OF WINTER YOU HAVE. TRANSMISSION/HYDRAULIC/REAR END USED 5 GALLONS 134D. I WOULD RECOMMEND MOBILFLUID 424. MORE INFO AT WWW.MOBILOIL.COM. 5 quarts of 40wt for summer use (including oil filter which you need to replace with oil change). Yes the air cleaner holds oil. Fill to the line shown on the bottom detacheable portion of the air cleaner.

People differ on what plugs to use. Autolite 134s are mine.

Sounds like you haven't invested ina Ford I&T 04 manual. Get one and use it. Available on this site and others for about $28.
