On my way home last night I noticed an 9/2N setting on the apron of the local JD dealership. Turned around and went back to look it over. It was there for some electrical repairs - -according to the Job Ticket. Pretty standard except for an extra brake rod/pedal that had been added to the left side. It was one of the early N pedals (straight - no bend) that had been mounted at a 45 degree upward angle. This was in addition to the regular brake pedal. It neatly came up to about the level of the seat on the left side and I suppose was used as a left-wheel hand brake for when your left foot is occupied with the clutch. It was a clever solution to a problem that doesn't require a lot of modification.

Yes, The left hand brake handle is available in a new after market model and it bolts on in 10 min. It takes the place of the upper bolt on the clam shell on the brake rod. E-mail me if interested. Dave.

Tim, they made an after market hand brake for the 2/9n. I sold Ultra dog one about a month ago.It bolts right on with the left brake pedal. You may be able to see a picture of it in the Archives, it was posted under weighty subject.
