My mowing tractor (1951 8N w/5-ft. Woods belly) overheated (boiling radiator) when I used it a few days ago. It has always had a thin film of oil in the radiator, but now I'm seeing the telltale bubbles, too. Does this sound like a head gasket? I haven't done a compression check yet. Am I correct that a bad gasket could cause the overheating? All advice appreciated.

If you had oil in the rad. then you saw bubbles.... Yeah I would say you blew the head gasket.
