First, you must have the PTO engaged in order to use your hydraulics. That's the lever on your left. The little lever is the position control lever. In the horizontal postion, your 3 PNT will not lift anything as this position is meant to drag things like box blades, discs, etc.

In the vertical position, you can then use your control lever (the longer right lever) which operates the 3 PNT for lifting things (like when you've finished using the above implements or when using a scoop, boom pole, etc.) The implement should stay in the height position you choose with the control lever. If it doesn't write us back and we'll help you diagnose your hyd system.

please buy a Ford I&T 04 manual available from this and other sites. It has a good explanation of all aspects of your tractor.

Evil,
If yours won't lift anything in draft position, you've got problems yourself. Put her in draft (horizontal) and pull your Hytrol lever all the way back. Your lift should go clear to the top. If it doesn't, write us back and we'll help diagnose your problem.

Greg,
My NAA has the draft control problem you mention. In Draft, with the control all the way, the implement will not raise. Any advice?

Larry, Mine didn't work correctly either until I adjusted it with the Zane jig. It works like a new one now.

It's a question every new N owner has. Check out the archives, as much has been written on this little lever. There are some great posts that discuss this in good detail. (Harry Ferguson inveted this little lever, by the way)

Seriously, it is the differnce between position and draft control for the three point hitch. If you have an implement that belongs in the ground (disk, etc.), use draft control. If you have an implement above the ground (mower, back blade, etc.), use position control.

That little lever will double your horsepower if you turn it down. Turn it up, and it will restore virginity.
