Hey Guys I've been offered an 8-N front mount dis.
good tires, runs good. Need to split tractor to replace "some kinda pin in the clutch or throw-out bearing area." What's he talking about? If I could get a "heads up" that would be appreciated!!! :-)

You're gonna need to know a litle more than that. Splitting the tractor is no big problem and takes less than a day as long as you are a decent mechanic, have tools, workplace, and don't run into too many rozen bolts.

Don't worry about replacing "a pin." If you are going to split a tractor, rebuild the whole clutch, check the ring gear on your flywheel and replace it if it's worn, resurface your flywheel if it's badly scored, replace the PTO seal. Parts are cheap and readily available.

Ah! Okay, if the clutch pedal is flat and does not return, you COULD have a clutch that is stuck due to corrosion, seeping oil, etc. Try pulling the tractor VERY slowly in low gear. That might pop it out.
