I am going to my neighbors place tomorrow (takin the N) to help him with his 2n. He put in a new starter switch and ballast resistor. When he hits the starter the only thing he gets is smoke from his new resistor. I pointed out to him a couple of years ago after he replaced the battery incorrectly the virtues of 6v pos grnd. It will be interesting to see what I find. Any pointers?

Thanks

A new resistor will smoke when new. Mine did when I replaced it years ago. She does get hot! Make sure all the connections are clean and tight.

Check wiring with this;

Tyler
That is the clearest wiring diagram I have seen on this site, very easy to understand and the pictures sure help visualize the procedure.
Have you made one for the 53 Jubilee by any chance?
Thanks

That's the extent of it.

My new resistor on my 2N smoked a bit when it was new. All it took was to have the key on and points closed. If his tractor isn't cranking, make sure he has the cables on nice and tight.

Thanks Guys. Great diagram Tyman. I'll post tomorrow if I find something worth a laugh. Hey Tyman, tomorrow is Friday. Video night? "It doesn't get any better than this!"
