Does anyone have an owners manual for a Dearborn Loader Model # 19-31? I have one mounted on an 8N Ford. I need to know what type of hydraulic fluid and what the capacity of the system is.I have the front mounted pump. There is no breather in the system,is this correct?Doesn't seem logical.I would gladly pay for a reprint or a copy of the manual.Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Phil. Model 19-31 was assigned to a bucket that was typically used on a Model 19-22 Dearborn loader. If you go to the link that Dave posted, check out the user's manual for the 19-22 loader and see if that's what you have. I have the master parts book for this, as well as the owner's manual at the link that Dave gave you. It should answer your question about the oil. If memory serves (highly suspect these days), it should take about 4 ½ gallons of the same oil you use in the engine of your 8N.

Here's an ad for the 19-22 for you to compare to your loader:

Hope this helps..... ..... Ed

Good question about the hydraulic fluid (type).

I read in the archives that one should not use the same hydraulic fluid as in the tractor. An external pump requires a mineral based oil. To use the 134 Fluid is not good, due to the additives in the fluid.

Any comments about that?

Thanks,

Dick H.

Hi Dick.

>> I read in the archives that one should not use the same hydraulic fluid as in the tractor. <<

You use the same weight SAE oil as used in the tractor's engine, not the same as used in the tractor's hydraulics.

Hope this helps..... ..... .Ed
