Anyone use the 6V reg. sold by Fun Projects? Are they a good investment? I had my gen, rebuilt & new cutout installed & now the amp meter reads 8 amps idleing & close to 20 amps at high rpms. Maybe this is right i'm a elect. dummy so I'm not sure. Don't want to fry the coil or the batt.
Any info is most appreciated.

Let me start by saying I am a very satisfied user of the Fun Projects 6 volt regulator cut-out replacement (1946 2N).

However, have you tried adjusting the output screw on the generator? If I remember correctly, any more than 10 amps and you will boil the battery dry.

The nice thing with the regulator is that it regulates the charge based on need, not supply as the cutout does. I have had mine for a little over a year, I use my lights whenever I want and without adjusting the generator, and always have a fresh battery.
