Has anyone run across a reverse direction rad fan.
I have a 9n that would that would melt out the coil in a very short time if worked hard in very hot weather. Always did ok on light work or in cooler weather. I discovered the cooling fan pushed air forward through the rad thus pulling all the engine heat through the coil.I put on another fan blade and have had no trouble since.
There had to be a reason for a reverse fan. Was this a ford item for some application or something aftermarket.JUST CURIOUS. Thanks.

Hi Richard. Mark and Fast Ed answered your question, but I thought I'd augment the answers with an original ad from an accessory catalog from the N-days:

Hope this helps..... ..... Ed

I have one on my 9N kind of nice now that it is summer and it dose not blow the heat on you. In the winter I like it the other way. Can't win for losing. It was a option for them. Mark H.

If your running through high weeds it helps keep the radiator clear so it wont overheat, had a neighbor years ago overheated his N plowing an overgrown pasture, had to have the engine rebuilt.I didnt do the rebuild I think I was about 10 or 12 at the time . ( 1955 ? )
